Sarajevo, 1914. Archduke Franz Ferdinand and his wife Sophie are assassinated by Gabriel Princip. Examining magistrate Dr. Leo Pfeffer is in charge of the local investigation that follows and must juggle his personal life with political problems that will obviously end in world conflict.
