Amidst a 'Narcos'-run era of golden television and with 'Escobar: Paradise Lost' still in the rear view mirror - this is a very very untimely film. Also: Colombians speak español colombiano, mmkay?! You guys are Spanish filmmakers so please have Colombians speak Spanish FFS, alright? I sure miss Pascal & Holbrook on this one. Bardem's Escobar is meh (his eyes are scary AF tho), so is Cruz's Vallejo. Navegante <3
Because I lived in Colombia a few years, I’m able to appreciate the fidelity to the accent which for me was impressive. Also the fashion/makeup were very accurate although I was annoyed by the fake belly of Javier. All the actors were great and fluid taking in count that doing the script half english half spanish takes off some naturality while speaking. Overall I enjoyed it, even after seeing Narcos.
