I hate to use a generic phrase like tour de force, but this documentary is what that phrase was invented for. Pure mastery of documentary form, cinematography, editing, sound and music. I want to see this whole crew back together to do a deeper investigation of the civilian community and also the fire service. The bar for documentaries has been raised.
"A haunting portrait of the folks in this city who try to cling onto whatever hope they can. The series ...would benefit from spending the same amount of time with members of the community as they do with the police force, but it ... captures the ongoing problems that we’re quick to turn away from.... [It's] perhaps the ultimate illustration of an American dream lost." - Jade Budowski, Decider.
