The story is set in modern-day New Orleans, the home of demented scientist Dr. Victor Helios (Thomas Kretschmann). Helios is in fact the original Dr. Victor Frankenstein, who has kept himself alive these past 200 years by a series of diabolical genetic experiments.

What are people saying?

  • Nick Schwab's rating of the film Frankenstein

Despite being awkward and clumsy in much of its drama, this Made-For-TV film, executive produced by Martin Scorsese, isn't all bad. Frankenstein's over explanation of its plot halts its flow, but the mystery is intriguing, as are the performances by the game cast, especially Adam Goldberg, who gets in many one-liners. It lacks intellect, scares, and could've been better, but it's a unique take on the old story.
