10th entry in the long running series was Toho's attempt at making a children's film featuring Godzilla. For the fans its simply the worst film of the entire series but does score some points for children's entertainment. The films' strong anti-bullying message is evident even if one wants to personally strangle the lead kid for most of the runtime.
Campy & contrived w/ a heavy "C," this is the 1st Godzilla movie for children. For all its sly environmental commentary, anti-bullying messages, & thief chases, the use of stock-footage & awkward baby-Godzilla works in a weird way. The dream sequences follow a certain dream-logic that are both hilarious (Menilla's donkey scream) & charming. Going in w/ the lowest of expectations, this is a kind-of-entertaining entry.
