After an airplane is forced to crash-land in a remote area, its passengers find themselves face-to-face with an alien force that wants to possess them body and soul—and perhaps take over the entire human race.

like "The Day The Earth Stood Still" meets "Lord of the Flies" with more face-splitting and extraterrestrial vampire jizz monsters, which I guess is a long way of saying it's way better than either of those movies
A little bit of Lebowski. "Why is the American woman screaming?" "Her husband died in Vietnam!!!" Actually Vietnam is the reason for all the bad things the aliens do. BTW, am I the only one who thought the vampire's scar looked like a vagina? Maybe that's what we're really scared of ...
Like the same year's Night of the Living Dead, this Japanese film concentrates not so much on the threat outside but the breakdown of the group dynamic. Goke's tension is less palpable than that admittedly-uneven Romero film due to its more scatterbrained nature, of which, never focuses on a specific villain or a plot line. The nightmarish visuals, however, are often as phantasmagorically beautiful as a drug trip.
Very fun 60s Japanese creature feature complete with cheesy special effects, over the top acting, and ridiculous plot twist after ridiculous plot twist. Fast-paced with bomb threats, political assassination, plane hijacking, UFOs, mind control, space vampires and alien blobs all thrown in the mix.
