Indie Lisboa # 18. A brief moment of cinema that is a treatise of situations and use of a music much bigger than images. Wagner over (a lot over) the images, where entertainment is in its repetition in a minor mode/mood. A film that with a semblance of lightness, is of a profound philosophical anguish, especially improved and redimensioned by Wagner's contrasting grandeur.
This loose and yes, sober, short feature seems to be a series of in-jokes, referencing so often and so early the dramas that exist in his work. Is it an ode to finding inspiration? The cafe treated as film set, allowing actors to express their craft? And then Kim, who now functions as a wrecking ball in the worlds they create together, doing her usual live wire work in an otherwise uneven creation. 2.5
