Our take

A terrific adaptation of the novel by Ngozi Adichie, Half of a Yellow Sun is a fierce indictment of Britain’s colonial past. Directed by playwright Biyi Bandele, and set in the aftermath of Nigeria’s Biafran war, this heartfelt epic boasts two excellent leads in Thandie Newton and Chiewtel Ejiofor.
