In 1860, U.S. Marshal Gideon McCool escorts four dangerous criminals across Texas to the penitentiary and is accompanied only by hot-headed Dep. Mike Reno, who is seduced by one of the prisoners, Laura Manon, a killer and Gideon’s former paramour.
