This was about an hour too long. The star is Morgana O'Reilly, who yes is unlikeable but unlikeable in a way I can relate to. It refreshing to see a female character (especially in the Horror genre) who isn't a cliched stereotype. The mum was a great as well!
Fun homage to Peter Jackson and Sam Raimi (and a lot of other 80s/90s) horror with some decent performances. Also I ate this ridiculous fro-yo during this: graham cracker cinnamon fro-yo with Cinnamon Toast Crunch, chocolate brownie pieces and gummi bears. Really any movie would've gotten at least two stars tonight in this fat fuck's household. Delicious. Except maybe Sucker Punch, that movie is dog ass.
Amazing fusion of terror and humour. Surprising plans like the one from inside the mouth and the one from inside the bucket on a character's head. Most amusing use of kitchen tools. Bound to this film.
"Johnstone’s screenplay throws one terrific curve ball after another and never allows its goofy humor to compromise its genuinely scary components. Though destined to be pigeonholed as a horror-comedy, the pic plays more like a fast-paced fantasy-thriller with a generous side order of droll dialogue." - Richard Kuipers, Variety
Could have been done by DeIgelsias in his good days, but is even better. Pretty good actors, so that it is quite great that the movie takes its time. I like horror movies which are starting slowly. And what a final chapter! Over the top in good way.
