  • mpho3's rating of the film How To Make a Book With Steidl

Steidl's craftmanship is impressive, and I admire his commitment to both his clientele and what may soon be a lost art. However, a more structured documentary style with less verite and more expository set up may have served the casual filmgoer better. By the end, I felt the artist June Leaf's painting summarized my feeling of the film: "Gerhad you are in ther somewhere." 3.5 stars
