A group of friends play an innocent game of capture the flag in the neighbourhood woods, arming themselves with nothing more than sticks, their imagination and a simple set of rules.

A very clever play on the rules of engagement that uses a game of 'capture the flag', played by a group of young teenagers to mirror all the angst, loyalty, hostility and dirty politics of real war. With sly nods to the breaking of UN-conventions like those against torture the film also raises the question of the cause of conflict from the ego level. 3 stars
This was one of the most unique films I've ever seen! At first, the gimmick of a kid's imaginary game of war being shown this way was so funny to me, but once that amusement wore off, the all-child cast actually managed to draw me more than any modern action film ever has.
