Beautiful, interesting, incredible cinema.
Eleven-year-old Rojhat lives with his mother in a small village of Van. One day, an ice cream seller arrives with his motorcycle, to the delight of the children in the village. They buy ice cream in exchange for eggs, copper wires, and old objects they have brought from their houses.
Shot in the dusty town of Van in Turkey, Serhat Karaaslan’s enchanting short is a moveable feast, as the dynamic handheld camera chases after a group of boys running wild and playing football. The simple pleasures of childhood–like the taste of ice cream on a hot summer day–come movingly alive.
