As Cléo or Paula Nelson (AK), Andrzej Leszczyc walks about his "mall de vivre", crossing several other characters and states of life, in constant intersections and occurrences that the camera capture, circulating with its protagonist and giving us his visions, and ours, to actions that lead to a geometrized choreography of sequences. In the beggining, a sequence-shot makes us rejoice with the language of images.
Strong debut by Skolimowski, which strikes chord even now. Fuelled by French New Wave director tells a story of a loner without a purpose, who is unable to commit to anything although he tries. It's also a first Polish film that focuses on a drama of an individual, who doesn't sacrifice for greater good, but just tries to find one's own perspective. Notable fluid camera work and gritty backdrop!
