But where the finnish master actually knows the recipe, Thomas Stuber tries the ingredients with more or less success. It is about a certain mood and a certain balance, between laughters and more dramatic episodes and "In den Gängen" is not always convincing, even though that´s the kind of film the audience loves. The good cast is essential, Hüller is even better than Rogowski.
Turns a hypermarket into a place of beauty with forklifters waltzing through the aisles and lets its staff in its everyday quirkiness and longing grow on you. Sometimes funny, often melancholy, events unfold slowly: those addicted to frenetic cuts may find this taxing, but the pacing worked for me with ample time to let moods and revelations sink in. Great acting throughout. Very much recommended.
