The year is 1914, and as World War I continues to rage across the European countryside, four individuals stuck on the front lines find themselves faced with the unthinkable in director Christian Carion’s Academy Award-nominated account of the true-life wartime event.

Wonderful film, even better if you try to rank it with other war and anti-war films. Speaking of which, both Paths of Glory and this one have a german lady singing to French soldiers and the reaction by the soldiers is the same. Nice detail.
Getting past the bad lip syncing singing and fuck sake is it bad the main message is good will to all men during Xmas over one of the most horrific points in war history that enemies can lay aside arms and come together during a festive period and then understand the complications and pointless of war itself that we're just human beings being thrown into political bullshit started by old men not getting their way.
