not so bad. i haven't figured out how to give half stars yet, but it's a resonably high 2. not terrible, but lighter than it pretends to be, with a decent story and setting, combined with a horrible script. if DeNiro had less lines, his character would have been much better, and maybe if everyone else followed suit it would have been better overall. for sure a fun-ish pulpy action picture. don't worry about it.
I don't watch Statham movies for the action, I watch them for the Statham. Preferably shirtless and squeezing the life out of another well-built toned man with his sculpted legs. De Niro is a paycheck collecting cunt who hasn't done anything interesting in 25 years.
Not even a passable time filler. Just awful tale of mercenaries being manipulated by sheiks, shadowy government agencies and each other. Owen and DeNiro look embarrased to be in the film and well they should. Statham basically plays the character he always plays. Terrible script, inept performances and terrible quick cutting editing. Don't even bother seeing on a dare.
