There are certainly some good performances to be found here, especially from Michael Canton and Ningali Lawford-Wolf. But, it's often too sentimental and too close to the road movie formula, that I couldn't really get into it. Plus, the extremist attitudes ruin any arguments this film makes about the assisted suicide debate.
Decent Aussie drama/comedy with a refreshing amount Australianism left unrefined. Michael Caton is fantasticly realised as the terminally ill Rex and anchors the film. Jackie Weaver's character as the doctor championing Euthanasia is a weak point and clear oversight with the scripting and delivery placing her in a different film altogether. 3 stars
