Uku is a lonely volcano lost in the ocean. Inspired by the animals he sees around him, he sings every day a song where he expresses his wish to have someone to “lava”. Another volcano, Lele, has been growing underwater towards the surface, fueled by the love of his song.

Disappointing manipulative short from Pixar that certainly doesn't live up to other efforts. The kind of treacle that a viewer doesn't respond to but winds up disdaining no matter how brief. Very weak.
The film was bad enough, but the Israel Kamakawiwo'ole ripoff song really pissed me off. Stealing from a dead artist isn't an "homage", it's just cheap and tacky, especially as it is pretty much the essence of this whole cartoon. It would have been forgivable if they had credited him at the very end or something like that, but they didn't, and the whole thing stunk altogether. Is the volcano supposed to look like IZ?
