There’s drama aplenty for the travelling theatre company Chekhov Cabaret. The unruly actors share the good times and the bad as a nomadic tribe where work and private life always mingle. But the imminent arrival of a baby and the return of a former lover will make old wounds resurface.
French director Léa Fehner presents a boisterous immersion into a flamboyantly creative traveling theater troupe. With a terrific cast including Lola Duenas and Portrait of a Lady’s Adèle Haenel, Fehner deftly keeps the plates of drama and comedy spinning: both in front of, and behind the curtain.
