Antoine Méliot is around 40 years old and has everything he needs to be happy: a beautiful wife, two adorable children, friends he can count on, a pretty house in the Yvelines and money. But one day he decides to ruin everything in one weekend.

I liked it. I liked the idea of turning against everybody, especially he was not completely wrong. But the end took me by surprise. This is one of those films who could start some heating disscusions - was he right, was he not right ? I have to say, I hate compassionate looks, they makes me aggresive. So I kinda understood his reactions...
An effective exercise on compassion for the silent battles we all face daily - some more chaotic, but all deserving of respect and consideration. The main character seems so vile until he finally reveals his motives - and that final punch is perplexing.
Apparently without any reason a man runs amok. He behaves strangely, alienates his wife & friends, endangers his economic existence. All of the sudden, out of the blue. Why is he doing that? The acting is good, but there are so many chliches; hypocrisy, double moral standards, greed etc. it's quite getting on the nerves. The answer to the above mentioned question is: so lala. A 'typical french movie'. 3,5 stars.
