I've always been fascinated by the way youngsters are depicted in the American cinema of the 60's and the 70's. They're a menace to adults and society instead of being their hope for a better future. Here, in 'Macon County Line', they're doomed to be killed if they don't come into shape. If you liked John Hough's 'Dirty Mary Crazy Larry', this one is for you. Strongly recommended.
Superb deep south / southern Gothic affair which starts out as a knockabout road caper and then almost turns into a slasher film by the end. Absolutely a film that you don't want to know anything about going in, and a splendid companion piece for the excellent Southern Comfort and Race With The Devil.
One of the finest opening hours of any film I've ever seen. You have absolutely no idea where it's going. The Vint brothers and Max Baer Jr. are wonderful. As far as character-driven narratives are concerned, this does some truly amazing things. Go in knowing nothing and be rewarded a hundredfold.
