One of the many worthy docs showing at this year's (and this week's) Salem Film Fest in Massachusetts. Though Slavic rather than Scandinavian, this unassuming slice of absurdity is Kaurismaki-esque in its taciturnity, and in its wry, sympathetic, never-quite-mockery of its "characters" -- in this case the very real inhabitants of a slowly depopulating village -- and of one man's ill-conceived mission to re-people it.
