It’s about a group of FBI profilers-in-training who are whisked away by their unconventional, borderline psychopath trainer to a Navy-owned island for a weekend of final tests. The main event is that a crime will be simulated, with appropriate clues left behind, that they will have to solve.

CSI meets Agatha Christie. It was fun! I wish I could reclaim Harlin as an unfairly derided maverick, but he's too much a journeyman who buckles under pressure from the studio. The result is purely derivative. Val Kilmer has pretty much become Brando at this stage; a bloated genius stuffing his face between endless pages of exposition. LL Cool J gives the best performance, and that's not even an ironic endorsement.
**1/2. B movie with guest stars Val Kilmer and Christian Slater obviously here to pay their tax arrears. The screenplay, loosely based on Agatha Christie's Ten Little Indians, is simple and efficient and some scenes worth being remembered like the duel in the swimming pool. A november film when it's cold outside.
