Ratings & Reviews

  1. FISCHER's rating of the film Mondays in the Sun

Un film réaliste, teinté de contestation, auréolé des lointaines luttes ouvrières, situant avec une grande simplicité et beaucoup de sensibilité, le combat de l’homme, victime des traumatisants ravages de la mondialisation... www.cinefiches.com

  3. SiIencio's rating of the film Mondays in the Sun

Slow burner like the pace of those with nothing to look forward to. Film highly combative reflecting on the dramatic social consequences of political decisions, desindustrialisation and the pride of the working class. It is also an allegation against those political systems that prevailed after the collapse of communism in the 80s and tipped the balance of social and economic power in favour of speculative forces.

A sad tale of the impact of unemployment, focusing on a group of friends with their own personal issues. Very funny at times, showing the quality of acting and writing. Very enjoyable film (in a different way).

  13. monk's rating of the film Mondays in the Sun

In the context of today's world, not only does it show the change that occurred in Barcelona, but also the consequences of that change, in a very human way...

  14. Steve G.'s rating of the film Mondays in the Sun

A film that practically lives up to its name, it's about as close to a lazy Monday afternoon in the sun as you can get from a film. Lovely slice of life comedy drama with a predictably notable turn from Javier Bardem.

  15. msmichel's rating of the film Mondays in the Sun

Universal tale that seems even more poignant a decade plus on. A group of laid off shipyard workers lives seem to be stuck as they take comfort in each other's company but are unable to move on to the next chapters in their respective lives. Astute character study and often quite moving featuring knockout turns by the majority of the cast especially Tosar.

  16. Fernando Nikolić's rating of the film Mondays in the Sun

  17. marcorenton's rating of the film Mondays in the Sun

Sad and depressing. But thanks to the strong acting of a charismatic Javier Bardem a very fine film with room for humor.
