The film records the removal of furniture and objects from the building, leaving visitors able to move freely amongst its empty spaces and a silence charged with feeling.

Our take

An evocative account of the emptying of Spanish poet Federico García Lorca’s house. By capturing the removal of objects, art, and furniture from this house-turned-museum, Pere Portabella reflects on the significance of absence, and makes it tangible by linking it to the poet’s belongings.
