I'm a sucker for films that seem like thrillers but turn out to be dramas. That said I was struck by how complicated all of the relationships were. Ultimately the mystery doesn't matter, the truth doesn't matter.
Without question, the worst wig I've ever seen in modern cinema. Looking past that, this an engaging film that's not as interesting as it thinks it is. The aspect ratio shift is powerful and the performances are touching and nuanced. It's a powerful film about loneliness, belonging, and the psychology of why we lie and how it masks our true pain. Regardless, it's a mixed bag that simmers out long before the credits.
