Fairly effective 80's horror film that seems to leave more impression for its perversity than its generic horror scares. Remember first seeing this in one of those crowded Cineplex shoeboxes of the time period at a midnight show and the crowd responding to the film's charms and clichés.
As an oh-so-1980's horror film in both vibe and aesthetic, when Night of the Demons goes for a tongue-in-cheek vibe it's more charming than any other aspect of the film. As these trashy and clever moments-- such as the infamous Linnea Quigley lipstick scene, the shoplifting scene, the Bauhaus dancing scene, and some creative shots-- are more entertaining than anything the cliched action-horror moments ever muster up.
salah 1 cult low budget horror yang memorable di kepala gw,filmnya keren sih, hantunya keren sih,sex scenenya keren sih, gorynya keren sih, tapi The Evil Dead masih the best horror movies IMO,all hail to Ash J Williams! #sembahsujudsamraimi eh,kok ngomongin The Evil Dead ya...lol
Weird ripoff of Demons getting soon as stupidly repetitive as Spookies when the story is already done right after 30 minutes. Anyway, you can't really hate these gems of trash if you grew up in those years.
Psychedelic - yet boring - gore (even if we don't get to see much)! The premise isn't oringinal at all, it's actually repetitive, but, somehow, it promised to be a hell of a fun ride... but it wasn't... Not scary or provocative, it's just another erotic teen demoniac slasher genre of movie, with weak plot and characters, trying to achieve what the original "Evil Dead" (clearly this was inspired by that one) did.
