What are people saying?

  • El Biffo's rating of the film Night Of The Hunted

Really great juvenile delinquent Film Noir. Gorgeous photography, set in the seedy side of Antwerp. Our hero doesn't have a monkey on his back, but he's got one tucked inside his leather jacket. And he's got a body to get rid of. Fine performances all around, but I like the monkey best of all.

  • dionysus67's rating of the film Night Of The Hunted

Anchored in atmospheric Marcel Carné misty docks, this extraordinary film about deviant youths in moral disarray has all the strengths of French films of that period: exquisite b/w cinematography, a solid quartet of performances (Frey's angelic face or Mayniel's divine melancholy and agony), fluid editing and a social commentary tinged with existential identity-seeking and imagery. A paragon of narrative economy.
