Our take

Shahrbanoo Sadat stars and directs with equal verve in this smartly topical romance based on her time as a reporter during the Taliban insurgency. A vital rebuke of theocratic overreach, which sends sidelong glances at battle-of-the-sexes screwball comedy, No Good Men mixes politics and pleasure.
