Recomendable.
It's a simple and humane movie. The focus here is on the bonding between the four main characters. While it takes place at the Mexican-US border, it could be set at any other place where families are separated by pursuit of happiness across the border. Makes you chuckle a few times, but I would not go so far as to call it a comedy. Would rate it higher if any of its elements were more memorable. 3.5/5
I came close to bailing on Northless, so maddeningly dialogue-free (to me) were the first sequences. While it never develops into anything like what you'd call a talk-y film, once the four principal characters are in place and their relationships develop, the story unfolds with beautiful simplicity. The bookend scenes of Andres in the bar first with Ella, and then with Cata, are particularly remarkable.
