3 1/2 out of 5 stars. Not bad at all. There's something about a Warner Bros chick flick I really enjoy for some reason. As always, Bette Davis was great, which is even easier to emphasize when Miriam Hopkins is playing such an annoying crotch.
i agree with the other posters. hopkins was lucky in the way that i don't think her character was supposed to be likeable or sympathetic but there's still a method in playing an antagonistic role and having the audience appreciate your presence. she would have been wise to take lessons from her arch-enemy, bette davis, who always has riveting performances no matter what her character is, including this movie.
