When the White House (Secret Service Code: “Olympus”) is captured by a terrorist mastermind and the President is kidnapped, disgraced former Presidential guard Mike Banning finds himself trapped within the building.

In this gay drama, closeted homosexual Banning (Butler) is secretly in love with the President of the US. In order to get closer to him, he first kills the First Lady and then organizes a fake coup to lure him away from his lover, Forbes (McDermott), a clear stand-in for the British Prime Minister. In the end, homosexual partnership is institutionalized and love triumphs. Women are either killed, tortured or ignored.
Even if you put aside the enormous amount of propaganda or the laughable CGI, it is impossible to take a single scene of this movie seriously if you know the first thing about american politics. It's too bad because I love Fuqua and it wouldn't take a lot of changes to make this a more enjoyable (though still predictable) action movie.
Well, it is what it is... So if you like a second hand Die Hard in the White House you'll probably do OK. The problem is that there is nothing in this movie that makes it stand apart from the pack. Every beat, shot and frame is terribly familiar and while competently handled, it's quite boring.
