  • SpacePirate's rating of the film One Man's Journey

An excellent Depression-era film, carried by the understated performance of Lionel Barrymore. It always intrigues me to watch the different styles of he and brother John, who tended to ham things up (I actually enjoy it when he does it for some reason, while other actors can't really get away with it, Olivier comes to mind). A quaint, intensely personal film. McCrea gives a memorable early performance. 4.5 stars
