Change comes slowly to a small New Hampshire town in the early 20th century. People grow up, get married, live, and die. Milk and the newspaper get delivered every morning, and nobody locks their front doors.

A solid film, benefiting greatly from W. Cameron Menzies production designs, which really brings the small town feel to life. As much as I love William Holden, I felt he was a bit miscast in this film tbh. Seemed like more of a role someone like Jimmy Stewart couldve done more with. The film stays true to Thorton Wilders play...for the most part... and the breaking the 4th wall is used to great effect now and then.
