Critics reviews

Though he was infamous for being something of a hothead on set, his films exhibits a kind of patience that one wouldn't expect from such a blowhard. Slow moving and evenly paced--almost to a fault--they toe the line between being unequivocally dull and abstrusely fascinating. PETER IBBETSON, based on the George du Maurier novel that had previously been adapted into a successful Broadway, falls into the latter category, at once being typical and atypical of Hathaway's auteurism.
