Believing that the world will end that very day, three mental patients Coco, Tsumuji and Satoru set out upon a journey. Walking upon the tops of the walls of the city, they seek to find a picnic spot with the best vantage point to view the final event.

in which the border of places are stages upon which the surreal and the beautiful perform wildly, the bulk of this short and staggering film takes place on the tops of city walls. dangling off the edge and wavering up the in-between, the strange is made touchingly, hesitatingly, human.
Great locations, fantastic drawings at the asylum, the distorted teacher was hands down the best thing in the movie and could easily fit in somewhere within David Lynch's world, yet the film as a whole felt like an experimental project of some teenager trying to uncover deeper meanings in life and that distracted me so much.
