  1. Illusion Travels By Streetcar's rating of the film Portrait Werner Herzog

"I don't think so, because he's the one saying the CIA tactics remind him of Nazi Germany." http://illusionpodcast.blogspot.com/2015/10/episode-76-nonfiction-from-werner.html

  2. anarresti's rating of the film Portrait Werner Herzog

And he also pointed the camera at himself. He also had the courage to ask himself questions, to look in the mirror, to avoid the easy mythmaking temptation to be just a shadow, an idea, a persona. Here he is, telling a story about the storyteller. So that from that moment on, no bulshit would be possible.

  3. CarlosEsquives's rating of the film Portrait Werner Herzog

  4. suede's rating of the film Portrait Werner Herzog

I can deeply relate to Werner's affection for his Bavarian homeplace. Am growing increasingly impatient, however, with his delusions of grandeur. Ultimately, it is himself who is his favourite Romantic hero. Regardless of that, for those with prior knowledge of Herzog's life and work, this short doc is a highly entertaining connector of dots.

  5. Tom Cottey's rating of the film Portrait Werner Herzog

Hugely entertaining, if slightly bizarre documentary by Werner Herzog about... himself.
