it's a shame they didn't stayed with just one camera (Dax's one) but they had to have a megolomaniac interest in showing every last piece of money spent in this movie. It wouldn't saved the movie from being terrible but it could have been more fun and new if they had stayed with one camera, with would be more refreshing and "ballsy"
A cast of horribly aggravating Jonah Hill and Michael Cera wannabes parading around a crowd of boring women that are out of their league while hip remixes of rap songs scorch the soundtrack. Ultimately, the film offers no story past the first ten minutes, no moral spectrum, no consequences for any action, and encourages ignorant, "rich-kid" reprehensibility. An awful waste of our time, Nima Nourizadeh.
Three teenagers throw a party that gets out of hand when one of them posts an ad for it on Craigslist, resulting in a seemingly neverending montage of drugs, booze, and breasts and culminating in a riot that nearly levels a city block. A completely pointless celebration of stupidity, PROJECT X is a summation of everything that is wrong with the world in one moronic package.
Sorry, but I liked it. It's exactly what I expected. A fantasy about the greatest party ever. If that's what you want to see, then you won't be disappointed. Stupid as hell, but just the idea of throwing a party that awesome made me happy.
My rate: 70% - It succeeds in exactly what it tries to do. I mean, what kind of high expectations do you have for a 'found-footage' party movie? Yes its pointless, stereotypical, and mean-spirited but heck, I'm too young to be seriously offended by this!
