Wow, this film has not aged well at all. I remember renting it on video when I was very young and thinking it was very funny and titillating at the time. Watching it again as an adult I am rather horrified at it's content. Nerd power and solidarity is all well and good. The outsider triumphs narrative was ahead of it's time. However, jokes about sexual assault and invasion of privacy are quite distasteful and ugly.
One of the underrated cult classics that uses a nerd sub-culture as a tool to tell a story of unwanted and undesired as the ones that are trying to stood up for themselves in a world that is not played by their rules. Final results are a bunch of lovable and future token characters, evergreen humor and humanism that reaches its emotional level as the Queen's verses are echoing in our own minds that we are not alone.
No, I will not hear it. We got bush. We got bush. Poindexter groin thrust deeper into this. This is the only eternally important film that cannot be granted 5 stars because nerds always get good marks. We got bush. We got bush.
