Synopsis

Three months after a terrorist attack in a Paris bistro, Mia struggles to process her trauma and recall the events of that night. Returning to the city, she retraces her steps and connects with fellow survivors, hoping to find the stranger who comforted her.

Our take

Tracing the broken contours of traumatic memories, Alice Winocour’s moving film speaks to post-Bataclan Paris as a place of collective grief and resilience. Virginie Efira emanates compassion as a woman assembling puzzle-piece fragments and forming new, intimate bonds in the aftermath of disaster.
