It goes beyond the saying that previous attempts such as “Paris, Je t`aime” or “New York, I love you” were successful in reflecting the whole diversity and plurality of cultures lay in one city to some extent. But as much the idea is humane and beautiful, the whole joyous and entertaining ensemble of the movie product result in something not that brilliant, and work not as much as a shiny postcard.
I have been waiting for this movie sinceproduction stages - Rio, its colours, its people, its magic. The city I was born in.
This film however is a cute 'Fly Emirates' commercial ad. Fernanda Montenegro is amazing, there a couple of cute scenes, but the film is so missable, so censored, so blasé. The movie drowns with Mortimer early on the plot. Not to mention the 'gay plot'. Sorry Ryan, not (true) bloody enough.
