Kishan Shah is a self-respecting, wise old man who has divided his property amongst his family and now lives with his youngest son, Ram Sharan. He is not able, however, to get along with him and his family for too long.

Based on Chandra Kishore Jaiswal’s novel Gawah Ghair Hazir, the film features one of the most iconic performances from Pankaj Kapur. A thought-provoking look at old age and family ties that are marred by the greed for inheritance and parental expectations.
