Critics reviews

The film’s visceral flashes of violence are transposed with languid, watery dream sequences that exist outside the narrative structure, as well as moments of charming domestic mundanity.

What are people saying?

  • Enrico Utomo's rating of the film Ruin

A haunting portrait of two Cambodians and their almost fatalistic relationship amidst the crumbling ruin of their lives. This is a true masterpiece - deep, dark, disturbing yet insightful. A praise really should be given to the acting, cinematography, and scoring - for setting a hypnotic tone. Some may be put off by its glacial pace, but after all this is a visual poetry full of distinct and profound imageries.
