Dan Pița's works in 80's are highly focused on the question of morality in corrupted & confined comptempory Romania, which's directly connected with auteurs' works in Noul val romînesc. This is kafkaesque morality play depicted by perspective of a person who was at side of the system but finally understood he was under the ruthless system. Adrian Enescu's atmospheric music reinforces this movie as devastated nation.
The film Ceausescu banned personally, for not having an idealized enough hero. Not quite a masterpiece, but probably Pita's most honest work, with echoes of Pintilie's 'Reconstituirea'. Great actors, gorgeous soundtrack by Adrian Enescu.
