SHAVAM: THE CORPSE

Thomas Ittikkora has suddenly passed away. We see the neighbours, relatives and friends of the young man begin to gather at his home for his funeral and pre-funeral ceremonies.

Following the funeral preparations of a Malayali Christian family, Shavam deftly captures the chaotic absurdity of its unfortunate circumstances. With a curious ensemble of characters and lashings of sharp, dark humour, Don Palathara’s debut feature is a melancholic yet hilarious take on death.
