Charlie Anderson is a farmer in Shenandoah, Virginia and finds himself and his family in the middle of the Civil War. He decides not to get involved in the war because he believes that this is not “his” war. Eventually he has to get involved when his youngest boy is taken prisoner by the North.

One of, if not the best of, Stewart's post WWII roles. Just a great story. What more can you ask for? Its entertainment at its best. Havent seen this one since high school days. Need to remedy that. One of my Dad's favs, he kinda pushed me to watch it. Wasnt a big fan of war/western films at the time, this one set me straight. Essential
