What are people saying?

  • Brotherdeacon's rating of the film Shipwreck

Stylistic balderdash which relies on the gravitas of the moment to save it from being labelled rococo digi-bay froth--a good double bill with Wilder's Ace in the Hole. Morgan Knibbe's docu-impressionism plays like Narcotized Mallick with zero informational charge. The decisions toward witness lens theatricality leave a crust of disingenuousness floating atop the actions like product tie-ins at Srebrenica.

  • Susana G.'s rating of the film Shipwreck

This is an important film that documents one of the (too) many shipwrecks in the Mediterranean sea. We hear a whispering voice - one testimony - and, then, we hear the screams, the despair. There is movement: the boat, the graves. In 15 minutes the director is able to show us the different faces of a tragedy, on both sides: who arrives and who receives. A must-see & must-discuss, so that it doesn't keep happening.
