On a train ride from L.A. to Chicago, a mild-mannered businessman gets unwittingly entangled in the plot of a group of vicious art forgers. When target for elimination, he escapes and joins forces with a petty thief in this classic pairing of Gene Wilder and Richard Pryor.

One of several successful Gene Wilder and Richard Pryor collaborations. They work so well together and seem to be having such fun that you wish Pryor was in more of the film. Pryor is absent from the first half of the movie which takes quite a while to get going. Wilder's and Clayburgh's train flirtation is okay, but memories of Cary Grant and Eva Marie Saint in "North by Northwest" haunt and hinder the plot set up.
This movie plays kinda like a really average white teenage boy's dream. Cause it's just some dude, who's forced to do something for his sister, and then he gets a girlfriend, gets swept up in an art scandal involving federal agents as a very important player, and gets a black friend who tells him to do blackface. And then it turns into GTA. This is a strange movie. Stuck somewhere between a 2 and a 3.
Prenez votre billet...
