    Compelling, both conceptually and visually. Nicolson took disassembled slides of her paintings, sewed them together, and moved them by hand through the printer to form the moving image. Direct and unmediated; material and tactile; a reclamation of production and power - at human speed (makes me think of Virilio). Interesting possible feminist reading of her choice to sew the slides together...
